Size: 17 3/4 n x 13 3/4 Kanu Desai was born in Bharuch and later moved in with his maternal uncle's at Ahmedabad. He was a student of Ravishankar Raval and it was Ravishankar Raval who sent Kanu Desai to Shantiniketan to study under Nandalal Bose in 1925. He was influenced by the Masters of Bengal School. In 1930’s Dandi March he drew many paintings recording the event. He also made artworks for the Congress session at Haripura. His drawings were published as romantic albums under Jeevan Mangal and Nritya Manjari titles. He was an accomplished art director with several films to his credit including Baiju Bawra and others. He was deft at drawing silhouette paintings. His works are a part of prestigious collections world over.
