G. S. Adivrekar

GS Adivrekar is is an abstract painter who has given an all new definition to non-figurative painting. His canvases are bright, beautiful and unforgettable. Adivrekar was born in Konkan village in 1938 and joined the Sir J.J School of Art in 1963 and then successfully created a career as an established abstract painter. His paintings are colorful and mesmerizing and bear the stamp of scenic coastal part of India he comes from. A powerful imagination combined with wonderful hues make his paintings a visual treat and finely balanced piece of art. Adivrekar digressed from his usual form of art in 1998 and had an exhibition of sculptures that he created.
